Q. Can you recommend an apartment in a quiet neighborhood?

Keep in mind that the city is always in action. There are bars and restaurants that pop up all over town. Among the quietest neighborhood we recommend: Midtown East, Upper East Side, Upper West Side and Brooklyn Heights. These neighborhoods are the favorites of those seeking more tranquility, or a family atmosphere.

Unfortunately, we have no apartments specially adapted for wheelchair access, however, several apartments in our listing are on the ground floor, have wide doorways or spacious elevators.

Q. We are students on vacation looking to be at the heart of the action...

The Theater District, Chelsea, Greenwich Village, the Meat Packing District and the East Village are all good neighborhoods. Greenwich Village is a neighborhood full of energetic, trendy, chic piano bars to casual jazz clubs. The Theater District draws a mixed crowd of tourists to its many shows, bars, clubs and restaurants. The Meat Packing District is very hip, full of beautiful people who flock to its design.

Most of our apartments have internet access. Please check the amenities listed with each apartment description to be sure that you choose an apartment that offers this service.

Kips Bay
Just a hop away from neighborhoods that are hopping, Kips Bay is a small neighborhood on the East side of Manhattan. Often considered to be the area between east 23rd street and east 38th street extending from Lexington Avenue to the East River and is one of the most convenient and quiet neighborhoods in Manhattan. The area is served by the Lexington Avenue subway line (4, 5, and 6) as well as buses which make it easier for the residence commuters to travel to and from work. One of the neighborhoods highlights is the Bellvue Hospital facilities which are really incredible and sort of the airport of hospitals. I do hope no one reading this finds themselves there but if you do, trust me you are in the best of hands.

If you are looking for a great residential area, that isnt far away from trending neighborhoods like Chelsea or the East Village then look no further because Kips Bay is the perfect place for you. Relatively quiet compared to most areas in Manhattan, Kips Bay offers the best of both worlds when it comes to accessibility and quality. Kips Bay is an attractive housing option for those who seek a reserved neighborhood removed from the hustle and bustle of the midtown, yet within walking distance to it. The area is more subtle than most Manhattan neighborhoods, yet has a unique generic charm that is right next to everything. Primarily a sea of modern, high rise apartment towers and home to some of the citys finest post-war buildings, the mix of architecture is rather surprising and hints at the long and strange history of the area, some wood frame houses still exist, harkening back to the early days of the American Revolutionary War. Kips Bay is clean, nice to walk through, and generally pleasing to the eye. The neighborhood holds great views by the river for those looking for a more scenic route to work.

With so many residents, the area is flooded in everything you need for day-to-day living. Unlike some neighborhoods in Manhattan, Kips Bay has lots of tailors, dry cleaners, shoe repair shops and supermarkets, in addition to tons of bars and restaurants. If you are looking for great ethnic food, Kips Bays go to restaurants for New Yorkers are Ali Baba which specializes in Turkish cuisine and Ethos for great Greek dining. Many residents frequent the Loews Theater which is one of the cleanest and largest in the city, and is located within the vicinity of a shopping plaza. Rents are comparable to other New York neighborhoods, but the quality is definitely higher. Renters can expect amenities such as half-bathrooms, dishwashers, and other fine living extras.
